Police are busy – more than 17,000 random breath tests were conducted across arterial and local roads in the Northern, Western and Southern regions of NSW as part of a road safety blitz on Friday and Saturday. The results included 24 alleged mid-range drink-driving and seven high-range drink-driving, and 506 speeding offences, and 89 motorists allegedly returned positive indications following roadside drug tests. Alleged offences included a 17-year-old Learner motorbike rider travelling at 175kmh in an 80kmh zone, a 19-year-old Provisional driver, travelling at 171kmh in an 80kmh zone and a P plater travelling at 167kmh in a 100kmh zone.
