The monthly meeting of the Narrabri Chamber of Commerce was held at the Community College on November 9 and chaired by president Russell Stewart.

Ben Simshauser from Tiemens Creative presented a progress report on the updated website.

There was an extensive discussion on the content of the site.

Chamber members are urged to participate in a University of NSW information session on Zoom regarding a report on Narrabri and Wee Waa High Schools.

Secretary Sheryl Ridley will send the link to members.

A Pink Up Namoi report was delivered by Louise Stewart, who spoke of the success of the dinner event.

According to Karen Kirkby, the Pink Up Namoi has raised approximately $75,000 to date with other fundraising activities still to take place.

Karen passed on her thanks to the chamber for its support.

A meet the candidate session was proposed for November 18 to be held at The Crossing Theatre.

Jenny Gale reported that the Chamber Christmas tree will be erected at the end of the month.

Mrs Gale said she would be excited to be showing off the new decorations bought with money donated by Whitehaven Coal.

Late night shopping was discussed and queries made of main street retailers and whether they would be interested in opening on Thursday, December 23.

The Christmas Carnival is proposed for December 16 subject to approval.

Tony Longworth reported on the recent crime prevention meeting, noting that the security cameras in Narrabri were praised for their clarity and visual reproduction.

A gratifying outcome after many years of frustration and working at achieving this result.

The chamber moved a motion to support the investigation by the crime prevention committee of two mobile security cameras.

The next meeting of the chamber will be held on December 14 which will also be its Christmas party.
