The Narrabri community’s Christmas lights display this year is bigger, brighter and more colourful than ever.

Many homeowners have embraced the Christmas spirit and added to the town’s festive atmosphere.

This year Gwen Fordham was judged the winner of the Narrabri Lions Christmas Lights competition for her spectacular display.

Mrs Fordham is a previous winner of the top prize and this year her extra Christmas decorations again won her the $100 cash prize from the Lions.

Mrs Fordham also won The Courier People’s Choice prize and a further $100 cash prize from The Courier.

“We saw many fantastic displays,” said one of the judges, Lion Rodney Onus.

“But Mrs Fordham brought that extra with her comprehensive depiction of the Christmas story and the highly effective and elaborate display.”

A tour of Narrabri’s streets reveals that this year there are many fantastic Christmas lighting displays.

“So many residents have really put their heart and soul into their home decorations and really shared the Christmas spirit with the community,” said The Courier manager Wanda Dunnet, as she presented Mrs Fordham with her People’s Choice prize.
