The Sydney council closed off some of its inner-city streets to vehicles on Saturday a week ago and opened them up for “street entertainment” a correspondent informs Topical. “It was evidently a huge success with crowds enjoying the carnival atmosphere and will be a regular feature through the year. Narrabri experienced something similar last year for the Create event which also brought a great atmosphere to the CBD. Maybe we can do it again a few times this year – it would be popular and retailers would have an opportunity to open for shopping.”
