Last week a Narrabri businessman in his …say, 60s… dropped in to The Courier office to chat about things in general. In the course of the conversation he recalled that he had been a Courier paperboy when he was at school. “I bought my first block of land from my paperboy income” he said. “It was $2300. We later built our family home on it.” Which points up the opportunities for paper delivery people which are still there today. Proud paperboys and girls regularly report buying a car, musical instruments and other big ticket items from their earnings. Courier paperboys and girls need only be 12 years or older and a few hours on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons yields a handy income. And paper delivery people of any age are welcome – it is a job which would be ideal for a retired person. The Courier has 13 paper delivery boys and girls but is always keen to hear from interested people.
