I would like to give the Narrabri Council a big congratulations for the new path alongside the highway to Narrabri West.
It is great that the residents living in the west can have a choice of which side of the highway they wish to walk on.
As a grandmother with a grandchild living in this area, I only hope that the council will now see fit to grant those children living south of the overhead railway bridge in Guest Street and in the Riverbend subdivision a chance to be able to walk safely on one side of the road.
At present, they have no choice but to walk on the road stepping off into long grass or water and mud if it’s wet.
There is also the chance of an encounter with snakes.
Some cars travel quite fast around this bend.
Recently a lady was seen pushing a pram around the bend.
I just hope council can do something before there is a bad accident.
