River levels at at Gunnedah are likely to fall below the major flood level around midday Sunday, the SES has reported.
The flood peak is now approaching Boggabri where a minor flood peak is expected Sunday afternoon.
Major flooding is expected to continue at Wee Waa through to the end of the week.
What the SES is expecting based on the prediction provided by the Bureau of Meteorology:
Gunnedah
• Major flooding is occurring along the Namoi River at Gunnedah.
• The Namoi River at Gunnedah is currently at 7.91 metres and falling, with major flooding.
• The Namoi River at Gunnedah is likely to fall below the major flood level (7.90 m) Sunday afternoon.
• Low-lying areas and properties along streets including Kelvin Rd, Bluevale Road, Wean Road, Boggabri Road, Chandos Street, Marquis Street, Conadilly Street, Little Conadilly
Street, Maitland Street, Bloomfield Street, Tempest Street, Rosemary Street, Warrabungle Street, Henry Street, Finch Street, Talibah Street, Old Tamworth Road, and Orange Grove Road may be affected by floodwater.
• Low-lying areas along the Namoi River including sporting fields, the tennis courts and racecourse may remain impacted by floodwater.
• The Kamilaroi Highway, between Gunnedah and Boggabri, is currently closed due to flood water.

Boggabri
• Minor flooding is occurring along the Namoi River at Boggabri.
• The Namoi River at Boggabri is likely to reach around 7.80 metres Sunday afternoon, with minor flooding.
• Gunnedah Road, Barbers Lagoon Road, Manilla Road, Maules Creek Road, Therribri Road and Bostons Street Bridge may all be affected by floodwater.
• Low-lying areas along the Namoi River may be impacted by floodwater.

Narrabri
• Minor flooding is occurring along the Namoi River at Narrabri.
• The Narrabri Creek at Narrabri may reach around 5.70 metres overnight Monday into Tuesday, with minor flooding.
• Low-lying areas along the Namoi River, including Cameron Park, may be impacted by floodwater.
• Floodwater may also close the Violet Street Bridge.

Wee Waa
• Major flooding is occurring along the Namoi River at Wee Waa.
• The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) is currently at 7.04 metres and steady, above the major flood level.
• The Namoi River at Wee Waa (Glencoe) is likely to remain above the major flood level (6.70 metres) through to Friday.
• Wee Waa is currently isolated by road. The following roads are impacted by flooding;

Garden Roads
Kamilaroi Highway at Glencoe
Kamilaroi Highway towards Burren Junction
Vera’s Leap Road at Wee Waa Lagoon
Culgoora Road at Wee Waa Lagoon
Narrabri Road (Kamilaroi Highway)
Yarrie Lake Road
• Access to Wee Waa Airport may be impeded.
• Kamilaroi High may be closed between Narrabri and Wee Waa, due to floodwater.
• Low-lying areas along the Namoi River may become impacted by floodwater.

Bugilbone
• Moderate flooding is occurring along the Namoi River at Bugilbone.
• The Namoi River at Bugilbone is likely to reach around 6.50 metres during Wednesday, with moderate flooding. This is similar to late November flooding in 2021.
• Epping Road (SR57) closed at Namoi River.
• Drilldool Road (SR72) and Pilliga Road (RR7716) may be impacted by floodwater.
• O’Neils Road (SR131) between Yarraldool Road (SR118) and Marlbone Road (SR24) may be impacted by floodwater.
• Bugilbone Road between Bugilbone and Pilliga may be impacted by floodwater.
• Come By Chance Road (RR7716) may be impacted by floodwater between Come By Chance and Pilliga.
• Low-lying areas along the Namoi River may become impacted by floodwater.

Goangra
• Moderate flooding is likely along the Namoi River at Goangra.
• The Namoi River at Goangra is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (6.70 metres) during Monday.
• The river level may reach around 7.50 metres Friday next week (30 September), with moderate flooding. This is similar to early December flooding in 2021.
• Goangra Road may be impacted by floodwater at the approach to Goangra Bridge.
• Yarraldool Road (SR118) may be impacted by floodwater south of Goangra.
• Come By Chance Road may be impacted by floodwater.
• Floodwater spilling into Cumberdoon Creek may cause inundation of the floodplain between the Namoi River and Castlereagh Highway.
• Low-lying areas and access roads along the Namoi River may become impacted by floodwater.
