Narrabri Shire Council’s involvement in a business activation program is proving to be just the ticket for the local business and professional community.
Mayor Ron Campbell said council received a grant of $264,460 as part of the NSW government’s Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund to deliver the program.
“The Exchange Business Activator (TEBA) is a full schedule of capacity building, networking and development opportunities for businesses in the Narrabri Shire,” he said.
“It is a joint venture, with council partnering with The Exchange Narrabri and the University of New England SMART Region Incubator (UNE SRI) to deliver information.”
TEBA includes networking events, business support, workshops and learning opportunities for participants.
So far, more than 165 participants have gained valuable information and connectivity through the program.
“This program enables ongoing economic recovery in the region by providing expert knowledge and support for local businesses to build confidence, capability and growth,” Cr Campbell said.
The multi-component program includes Hatch+, Entrepreneurs Leverage, Professional Advisory Support, monthly business networking, guest speaker events, bi-monthly mentoring sessions, masterclasses and challenge solution sessions.
There will also be free access to the co-working space at The Exchange Narrabri for participants of the UNE SRI Hatch and Entrepreneurs Leverage programs.
TEBA project manager Kate Kahl said the program has received extensive support from local businesses and business associations since its inception.
“It’s really exciting to be part of the TEBA project because it’s such a comprehensive and complete offering for businesses at any stage,” she said.
“Whether you’ve got a business idea you’d like to get off the ground or you’re a well-established business ready for the next level of growth, this program will support you to get there.”
