The inaugural Namoi Jobs and Trades Show will be the forerunner of an annual, regional event at Narrabri.
Organisers, Narrabri Industrial Network and Future EDU, were delighted with the support of more than 40 business exhibitors and educators who brought equipment to the grounds and set up information stands at The Crossing Theatre venue.
Narrabri district schools were invited and students were enthusiastic participants during the morning session of the show.
“We were very pleased to have so many young people come along,” said NIN president Justin Smith.
“The Namoi Jobs and Trades Show is about promoting jobs and career pathways. Young people have the opportunity to talk to people in industry and education who can help them with their options.
“We will have a comprehensive debriefing, but I am confident that the inaugural Jobs and Trades Show is the forerunner of a valuable annual event,” said Mr Smith.
Mr Smith’s comments were echoed by the network’s business development manager Kodey Stanford, a lead organiser of the event alongside Future EDU representative Trudy Seamark.
Ms Stanford said exhibitors and sponsors had already expressed interest in the next expo.
“We have had a lot of great feedback from businesses,” she said.
Some retail businesses have expressed interest in taking part in such expos, and Ms Stanford said the next event could be broader.
