The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 6.55pm on Tuesday to rendezvous with paramedics at Narrabri who had a patient suffering a serious life threatening medical emergency.
NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived on scene and carried out initial treatment on the 78-year-old female and due to the time critical nature organised to transport the woman to the waiting helicopter at Narrabri.
The helicopter critical care medical team further stabilised the woman prior to her being airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a serious condition for further specialist treatment.
