Boggabri and District Rugby League Football Club hosted its 2022 season awards presentation at the Boggabri Golf Club on Saturday.

Flooding around the Narrabri Shire meant that some club members and players could not attend, however, there was a great turnout to celebrate an enjoyable Kangaroos campaign.

The club’s president Greg Haire welcomed the audience and there was also a minute silence for Peter Mcllveen before the award winners were announced.

Those award winners are as follows:

Ladies league tag:

Most improved – Mia Stewart.

Coach’s award – Tarsha Smith.

Sportsmanship award – Kaiya Grace Hendrie.

Highest point scorer – Kaiya Grace Hendrie.

Best attacker – Belle Byrne.

Best defender – Caitlyn Dewar.

Players’ player – Belle Byrne.

Player of the year – Ashlee Haire.

Best and fairest – Ashlyn Summers.

Reserve grade:

Most improved – Benny Burns.

Coach’s award – Rowan Keeler.

Sportsmanship award – Nicolas Hobden.

Highest point scorer – Rodney Lamb.

Best forward – Kurt Bassett.

Best back – Rodney Lamb.

Players’ player – Clifford Toomey Jnr.

Players of the year – Chris Smith and Clifford Toomey Jnr.
