Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2022/23 season suffered its first washouts on Saturday when the round two matches were called off.

In first grade, RSL and Tatts were scheduled to meet at Leitch Oval and the Western Razorbacks and Tourist Hotel were set to go head-to-head at Hogan Oval, while in second grade, Tatts was scheduled to play against RSL at Gately Field.

All three of those matches have been declares draws.

Four of the six matches scheduled to be contested across the opening two weeks of the campaign have now been called off after the Razorbacks and Tatts’ first grade game in round one was unable to be played due to Razorbacks players being unable to travel to Narrabri amid flooding in the Narrabri Shire.

The NDCA board has not yet determined what the result of that match will be.

Meanwhile, this weekend’s matches are all unlikely to go ahead due to the flooding in Narrabri.

In first grade, RSL is scheduled to meet Western Razorbacks at Hogan Oval while Tatts and Tourist Hotel play at Leitch Oval.

In second grade, Tatts and Tourist Hotel are scheduled to play at Gately Field and RSL has the bye.

However, flooding in the Narrabri Creek has already seen Leitch Oval become fully submerged, while the other two fields are expected to go under as well early this week.

Should that occur, the first grade comp will likely miss two to three weekends of play, while second grade games could be relocated to Cooma Oval to play on synthetic wickets.
