A teenager has been charged as investigations continue into two alleged break and enters at homes in Wee Waa.
Just after midnight on Saturday, November 12, police officers were called to Cormie Avenue following reports a home was broken into and a handbag, wallet, and keys were allegedly stolen. A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced.
On Friday, November 18, officers responded to an alleged break and enter at a home in Rose Street after two cars were stolen from the property.
Later that day, the vehicles – a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota Prado – were recovered at the Wee Waa Showground.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators seized a mobile phone for forensic examination and arrested a 15-year-old boy on Rose Street at about 3pm on Sunday, November 20.
He was taken to Wee Waa Police Station and charged with aggravated break enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, larceny, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty. The boy was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Local Court. He appeared in court on Monday. Investigations are continuing.
