Work is proceeding apace on the Rotary Club of Narrabri’s new Selina Street shelters.

The shelter structures have been installed, and the concrete bases poured, with seating and tables being added.

Barbecues will also be included as part of the open space redevelopment.

Recent poor weather has hampered the project, however, the hard-working crew is making the most of the favourable conditions and has been making great progress towards the completion of the picnic area.

The old concrete pad was removed ready for the new, larger slab which has been created.

The project has been coordinated by Rotarian and local business owner Wayne Wheeler.

The new, modern structures replace the previous Selina Street igloos – also a Rotary project completed in 1985.

Rotary’s Selina Street picnic area refurbishment was successful in securing a grant from the NSW government.
