“I encountered a visiting couple in Narrabri for Christmas in the carpark at Woolies on Sunday,” a correspondent tells Topical. ”They were gazing across at The Crossing Theatre. “How did you get a big, first-class convention centre in a country town?’ they asked?” “I was able to tell them it was also a twin cinema complex, and they were even more impressed. I explained that The Crossing Theatre was the result of foresight and determination by our mayor, the late Ross Panton and a few helpers and thought to myself, “we are so lucky – this is a wonderful asset for the town and our shire, which we may just take for granted.”
