Hello – NSW Premier Dom Perrottet here wishing you all a very merry Christmas!

I love Christmas – I relish the time with my family – and the magic of seeing my children’s faces alight with joy and wonder.

For so many Christians here in NSW, this is one of the most special times of the year, to reflect on the birth of the Christ child more than 2000 years ago.

But I hope this Christmas is a time for everyone in NSW to celebrate the message of love, peace and hope – surrounded by the people you love.

This year there is much to be thankful for – particularly that we have been able to return to a more familiar way of life.

At the same time, 2022 has brought fresh challenges – with record breaking floods causing so much destruction and distress.

I know those communities have drawn closer than ever and I give thanks to the volunteers, emergency services and health workers who have given extraordinary service to our state this year.

Many of them will miss special Christmas moments with their families – we are all truly grateful.

Your selfless service lifts us all higher.

For some Christmas can be a very difficult time – whether there’s an empty seat at the table or other challenges – please know you are in my prayers.

For those who are blessed to be surrounded by family and love at Christmas – this is such a great time to reach out and support someone you know might be doing it tough.

If you are taking a break, I hope it’s a holiday that will fill you with happy memories.

Whether it’s beach cricket or lengthy discussions on who makes the best Christmas cake in your family – relish the moment!

If you are traveling within our beautiful state – stay safe on the road – enjoy the journey and the destination.

Wishing you all health, happiness and a bright future in 2023!
