Narrabri Shire Council is now part of the NSW government’s OneRoad system, driving information directly from councils through to Live Traffic NSW. The addition of Narrabri Shire came into effect on January 23.

Council will use the platform to publish real-time information about traffic conditions, incidents, roadworks, and hazards – making information readily available for residents and those visiting the shire.

OneRoad is a cloud-based solution creating one central hub for publishing information to Live Traffic NSW, making critical information available for all NSW road users.

“During emergencies like floods or bushfires, local traffic information is critical for motorists to make informed and safe decisions,” council’s acting general manager Donna Ausling said.

“Going live with this new system allows residents and those travelling through the shire to have the latest information about our roads.”

Before going live with OneRoads, Narrabri Shire Council provided updates via its website and Facebook page.

Under this new system, motorists can access information previously posted on council’s website and social media via the Live Traffic site and third-party apps such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, and TomTom.
