Poem by Max Pringle OAM

She was called a Wonder Woman
By her coach in early years
Full of self determination
She could match it with her peers.

There’s nothing gets the best of her
Her achievements are quite high
Since she took to Para- Swimming
She’s been reaching to the sky.

As a schoolgirl she won medals
Seven gold ones I might add
In the underage National
Championships and that’s not bad

Like a duck she took to water
She excels when in the pool
And she’s won a lot of medals
Even after she left school.

With living down in Anna Bay
Where the water’s close at hand
She’s more confident in water
Then she would be on the land.

She hasn’t let things get her down
Even from an early age
She only sees advantages
Now she plays on the world stage.

And so as our Ambassador
On this great Australia Day
The fact she’s come to be with us
There’s not much more I can say.

You’re most welcome Taylor Corry
To join our celebration
While delivering your message
On the birthday of our Nation.
