The Narrabri and District Historical Society were in for a treat with a donation recently given to the popular museum from Narrabri resident Carolyne Hulbert.
Nearly 70 dolls, originating from various countries around the world and dating back as far as the 1940s, have been delivered to the society’s museum.
“I am delighted to have the opportunity to donate these dolls to a worthwhile and valued display centre such as the Narrabri and District Historical Society’s museum,” said Mrs Hulbert.
“I have no granddaughters to pass them onto, so this seemed the perfect destination where the dolls can be housed and spend the rest of their days being admired by visitors to the museum”.
Narrabri and District Historical Society president Garry Burr said the society is extremely grateful to receive such a generous donation.
“The dolls will be displayed for the public to enjoy.
“Museum curator Mrs Jean Fairless is currently attending to the display design.
“Many of these treasures have porcelain faces, a good indicator of the historical impact and quality of the dolls.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mrs Hulbert for her kind generosity.”
