The shop front of a vacant site at 122 Maitland Street was the target of vandalism at the weekend.
The owners of the premises, Martin and Catherine Browne, who operate the nearby pharmacy CAMstart, were alerted that the glass panelling at the site had been damaged.
“A customer came in and asked what had happened next door,” Mr Browne said.
The Brownes recently donated the use of their vacant Maitland Street shop front, the former Barrakets site, for community use.
The shop was home to the recent, successful Christmas tree display as well as Christmas gift wrapping.
“It was disheartening to find that someone had smashed the window,” Mr Browne said.
The damaged glass panelling was replaced on Monday morning.
Police have been notified of the incident.
