A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car as part of a two-vehicle accident on Dangar Street. On March 8 at 1.30pm, two vehicles travelling in the same direction collided when the front vehicle stopped to allow pedestrians to cross the road.
The rear vehicle collided with the front motorist, pushing the car forward and hitting a pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries to their legs and back. A passenger in the front vehicle was also reported as suffering from whiplash. Both drivers were subject to blood alcohol testing and returned negative results. The pedestrian was conveyed to Narrabri Hospital.
An infringement notice was issued to the rear motorist for failing to keep to keep a safe distance behind another vehicle.
Firearms inspections
Police have advised firearms inspections have been conducted throughout the district as part of Operation Armour.
Operation Armour focuses on preventing firearm thefts in rural areas. Part of the inspections include ensuring firearms meet the necessary storage requirements.
In NSW, any person seeking to possess and use a firearm must be authorised by way of a licence or permit.
If firearm licence holders have not been visited by police, they are encouraged to contact Narrabri Police Station on 6792 7199.
Honesty box stolen
Police are investigating malicious damage and theft from a Narrabri sporting facility on Wukawa Street.
On March 14, an honesty box at the facility was found to have been pried open. An unknown amount of money was stolen. If anyone has information in relation to the incident, they are asked to contact police on 6792 7199 or report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Thefts from motor vehicles
Police are reminding people to ensure they remove valuables from vehicles. The message comes after two vehicles were broken into in recent weeks and some of the vehicles’ contents were stolen.
On March 12, entry was gained to a vehicle on Barwan Street by forcing the driver’s side door open. A wallet was stolen from the vehicle. On March 13, a wallet was stolen from a vehicle on Burigal Street.
Passenger injured in quad crash
A passenger was injured in a quad accident on a rural property at Rocky Creek on March 9. The passenger fell from the back of the vehicle and sustained head injuries.
Emergency services attended the scene and the patient was conveyed to Narrabri Hospital to rendezvous with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. The passenger was conveyed to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment. Police advised the passenger received non-life-threatening injuries.
Motorist driving on cancelled licence
Police stopped a 33-year-old woman driving on Barwan Street on March 7.
The woman was pulled over for random breath test. When conducting checks, police discovered the woman had a cancelled licence.
Suspended licence holder stopped
A 41-year-old woman was stopped on Violet Street for the purpose of a random breath test at 8.25pm on March 4. The woman returned a negative result, however, police discovered she was driving with a suspended licence. She was issued with a suspension notice.
Alleged drug driver charged
A 39-year-old man was stopped on Denison Street for the purpose of roadside testing. The man returned a negative alcohol result, however, is alleged to have returned a positive detection to methamphetamine.
He was arrested for secondary fluid testing and conveyed to Narrabri Police station.
The man received a court attendance notice for driving a vehicle with a drug present in blood (secondary).
Generator stolen
A 6kva Honda generator was stolen from a Killarney Gap Road property between February 27 and March 4. A bore and generator were visible from the roadside.
The property owner discovered the generator was stolen and a chain and padlock were also missing.

Low-range drink driving offence
A 49-year-old man was stopped on Yarrie Lake Road at 12.35pm on March 2 for the purpose of a random breath test. He returned a positive result and was conveyed to Narrabri Police Station for secondary testing which also returned a positive detection to alcohol. The driver requested to be taken to Narrabri Hospital for a blood sample. He was issued with a court attendance notice for low-range drink driving (second offence).
Motorbike rider injured
A man riding a black Suzuki motorcycle, travelling east on Barwan Street, was injured after hitting a patch of oil on the road on February 27.
The man lost traction, forcing the motorcycle to slide. He was thrown from the motorcycle. The man was treated at Narrabri Hospital for a broken thumb and minor grazing.
Police attended the hospital to speak with the rider. As a matter of procedure, police conducted a breath test which returned a negative result.
P1 driver’s licence suspended
Police were conducting a roadside breath testing operation on Cooma Road in the night of February 25. A 35-year-old man, driving on a P1 licence, was stopped.
He returned a positive detection to alcohol and was conveyed to Narrabri for secondary testing. The man was issued with an infringement notice for driving with a novice range PCA, first offence. Provisional licence holders are required to have a zero blood alcohol limit. The man’s licence was suspended.
Break and enters at Wee Waa
Police have reported a number of break and enters at Wee Waa properties in recent weeks. The break-ins have occurred at properties in Rose, Boundary and Mitchell streets. In some instances, entry has been gained through unlocked doors or partially open windows. Money, electronic goods, keys and handheld items are among the goods reported as stolen. Most of the incidents occurred late at night or early in the morning during weekends and into Monday. Police are appealing for information from the community in relation to these incidents. Police also encourage people to report break and enter crimes as soon as possible by contacting 000.
