Nominations are being sought for Narrabri Shire Council’s 2023 Volunteer of the Year award.
The honour will be presented as part of National Volunteer Week celebrations in the shire.
Nominations close at 10am on Tuesday, April 11.
Volunteering brings people together to build communities and create a better society for everyone.
The shire award recognises the significant contribution members of the shire have made in giving their time to not-for-profit organisations, community groups or other entities such as schools or government organisations.
The award celebrates contributions made by people in the community across all walks of life.
Last year’s winner, Jeff Cloake, has been a dedicated volunteer at 2MaxFM for more than 20 years.
Nominees included Christy Browning, a proactive member of Narrabri District Junior Rugby League Club, and Tony Battam, a member of the NSW State Emergency Service for 35 years.
Nomination forms are available on the council’s website or at the Maitland Street administration building.
