Trinity Kelly and Eva Sadler are the Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2022 season mixed pairs champions after beating Tony and Marie Redman 33-11 in the final on Saturday.

Kelly and Sadler got off to a great start and were leading 10-nil before the Redmans got on the scoreboard on the fifth end.

The eventual champions scored 16 more shots before the Redmans were able to score again as the scoreboard read 26-1 after 10 ends.

The Redmans then claimed six of the last nine ends, but it was too little, too late as they were defeated 33-11 across 19 ends.

The 2022 season triples decider got underway on Saturday afternoon, but only two ends were played before rain stopped the game.

It will now be played this Thursday, May 4, from 6pm.

Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club hosted the second semi-final of the five-years-and-under competition last Thursday, which saw Janice Foxe defeat Carol Demamiel 25-19 to reach the final.

Foxe won seven of the first ten ends to lead 10-6. She then led 19-15 after 20 ends and eventually won the game 25-19 across 25 ends.

Foxe will now play Glennis Godden in the final this Thursday, May 4, with Marie Redman to be the marker of the match.

Social bowls was also played last Thursday.

Colin Armstrong, Olwyn Campey and Berice Eather defeated Janet Coleman, Rhonda Fitzgerald, Kay Carolan 15-12, Marie Redman and Lyn Tuckey downed Trish Allison and Di Chessells, and Lyn Wedesweiler and Cecile beat Jan Etheridge and Mary Wheeler.

Social bowls will be played again this Thursday.

Social bowls will also be played on Saturday afternoon from 1pm. A sheet will be left in the club for players to write their names down name down, or they are asked to arrive before 1pm.

Three Narrabri bowlers will travel to Wee Waa on Saturday to compete in the 2022-23 Zone 3 Bowls state singles and senior singles tournaments.

Dave Dewar and Cameron Yates will contest the state singles and Tony Redman will play in the senior singles.
