A P2 Provisional licence holder will not be driving for at least six months after being detected near Narrabri at 160kmh.
The driver also returned a positive drug test.
About 3.20pm on Saturday, April 22, Narrabri Highway Patrol detected the Hyundai Accent on radar at 160kmh on the Kamilaroi Highway.
The vehicle was stopped a short time later and the driver produced a P2 licence. There were no P plates displayed. The driver submitted to a roadside drug test which returned a positive detection to methylamphetamine.
His licence was suspended for six months and his registration plates were seized for three months.
He will also face further legal action in relation to the positive drug test.
