This year’s Young Woman of the Year competitions at the Narrabri Show have drawn great community interest.
Four entrants have nominated for the senior title while the junior competition will see seven compete for the honour.
Interviews were conducted by judges at the Tourist Hotel on Sunday.
Co-organiser Georgie Haire, a former Wee Waa showgirl who made it through to Sydney Royal, said Sunday’s session was a great opportunity for the young women to get to know each other.
“It’s a really great program,” she said.
“I like trying to empower young women to have a go. I like to see their confidence grow.”
Ms Haire is being assisted with the Young Woman program by 2022 Narrabri Showgirl and Group 14 representative Samantha Coppin and show vice president Bec Cope.
This year’s judges are Annie and David Berrell and Moree Young Woman and Sydney Royal runner-up Jess Towns.
On-stage interviews will be conducted at a cocktail evening on Wednesday.
The competitions’ winners will be announced during the show’s opening ceremony on Friday night.

JUNIOR YOUNG WOMAN OF THE YEAR: Grace Smith, Sofie Foster, Hannah Strickland, Jess Simpson, Laura Flower, Kirby McClenaghan and Mikayla Smith are this year’s Junior Young Woman of the Year entrants at the Narrabri Show.
