The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Narrabri Hospital at 8.45am on Wednesday morning.
The crew transferred a woman in her 50s to John Hunter Hospital.
The woman was suffering from a medical condition and required specialist treatment.
She was stabilised by the helicopter critical care medical team before being airlifted to Newcastle in a serious but stable condition.
