Nosh is back in 2023 with organisers busily preparing for this year’s event.

The two-day event will start on Saturday, August 26 with the Nosh food and drink festival and culminate on Sunday, August 27, with the coveted Nosh Long Lunch.

Nosh president Kate Kahl said the committee, who are a mix of familiar and new faces, have been preparing for the 2023 event since late 2022 to deliver the iconic food and drink festival.

“The last Nosh event was held in 2019, since then, we have overcome the challenges of COVID and we are back in 2023 to deliver what the community and wider region has come to love and expect from Nosh,” she said.

“This year Nosh celebrates 20 years since the festival was first held.

“Since 2003, through the tireless effort of countless community volunteers, we have been able to build Nosh to be a much-anticipated food and drink festival amongst our local community as well as with visitors attending from all over the region and interstate to be part of the festivities.”

The Nosh festival will be held in the parklands along the Narrabri Creek which will feature festival exhibitors lined around the shared pathway between Hogan and Leitch Ovals.

Festival visitors will be offered a relaxed and picturesque landscape to meander their way through exhibits while perusing the locally produced products, foods, and beverages.

“We are also delighted to announce celebrity chef Sophie Hansen will be a special Nosh guest at the food and drink festival.

“Sophie will provide a cooking demonstration during the festival.

“We are looking forward to delivering our traditional Nosh events with the Nosh BBQ cookoff, cheesecake, and home brew competitions all set to feature at this year’s event.

“There will also be kids’ activities too featuring George the Farmer, a jumping castle and face painting, so everyone in the family can come and enjoy Nosh,” Nosh president Kate Kahl said.

“The Nosh committee would like to thank our partners and sponsors for their contribution to this year’s event and would like to welcome the Port of Newcastle on board as our major partner in 2023 and thank them for their generous contribution.”

Port of Newcastle chief executive officer Craig Carmody said Narrabri represents a key part of the port’s supply chain and therefore the port community.

“Port of Newcastle is proud to play an important role in ensuring such an iconic event for Narrabri is reinstated on the events calendar, opening up this beautiful region to people across NSW,” Mr Carmody said.

The Long Lunch will be held in the parklands behind The Crossing Theatre on Sunday, August 27 with tickets to this event going on sale soon.
