Eva Sadler and Heather Caton are Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s 2023 president pairs champions.
The duo defeated Helen Woodward and Dawn Armstrong 19-8 in the final at Narrabri Bowling Club last week on Thursday.
The match score certainly was not an indication of the quality of the game as both teams played some great bowls.
Social bowls was also contested last Thursday.
Carol Demamiel, Ronnie Dewar and Janet Coleman defeated Leone Jack, Glennis Godden and Val Falkiner 20-15, Rhonda Fitzgerald, Trish Allison and Mary Wheeler beat Janice Foxe, Yvonne Hardman and Kay Carolan 16-15, and Bruce Tomlinson, Berice Eather and Di Chessell downed Ian Jack, Gloria Campey and Doug Mackereth 20-13.
Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club will host a trophy day at the club this Thursday.
Meanwhile, Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2023/24 men’s season continued on Saturday.
Tony Redman and David Dewar will contest the final of the consistency singles competition after they won their respective semi-finals.
Dewar led all the way against Bill Rosewarn to win his game 150-130 across 29 ends.
Redman also led from the first end in his game against Larry Scott and he scored a ten on the second end to go ahead 17-3. Redman and Scott played 27 ends with the final score being 150-116.
The final will be played on Saturday, July 22.
It was great to see so many bowlers take to the greens Saturday afternoon for social bowls. If you would like to play social bowls on Saturday afternoons, please put your name on the sheet at the club or be at the Narrabri Bowling Club by 1pm Saturday afternoon.
