Cubbaroo Polocrosse Club hosted its annual carnival at the Wee Waa Showground across the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23.

It was a multi horse event and it included sub-junior, junior, open and ladies’ divisions, with more than 25 teams lining up across the weekend.

The Cubbaroo club said that it had eight players saddle up to play at the carnival and there were also many valued members supporting across the enjoyable weekend from in the kitchen to the office and everything in between.

Cubbaroo’s open team played in the C-grade division.

The side included Billy, John, Emily and Mitchell Brodigan, Edwina Keft and Olivia Wilson.

They faced some tough competition across the weekend, defeating both Muswellbrook and Narrabri Two on Saturday morning, which saw them advance to Sunday’s final. They took on a Galloping Gully Polocrosse side in the final that included Lacey Scott, Lach Melbourne, Kohl Weir, Max and Fergus Hunter and Clare Campbell, and the Gully team prevailed.

Olivia Wilson was awarded the Len Wall best junior player award at her home club’s home carnival during the presentation that wrapped up the weekend.
