Season two now a month old following round four contests

Narrabri Touch’s 2023 season two campaign is now a month old after nine round four games were played at Hogan Oval and Leitch Oval on Monday night.

Only one team in the men’s comp has accumulated maximum ladder points from the opening four rounds.

The two 2022 A-grade grand finalists, Grumley Builders and Lations, both went into their respective matches having won three from three, but the Grumley Builders dropped points for the first time when they were held to a 4-all draw by Win Or Booze.

Lations powered on to go four from four when they outscored the DTA Timber Lumberjacks 8-1.

Wilga Pelicans are the only other team to have won three of their four matches so far after they downed NFC 7-1 on Monday.

NFC are ranked fifth on the ladder and are one of three teams that have won two of their fourth matches.

The other two sides include fourth-placed Cougars and sixth-placed Gee Bangers, which were both victorious in round four.

Cougars outscored Namoi Brothers 11-4 while Gee Bangers edged out the Ballbusters 5-3.

Win Or Booze are seventh, having won once and drawn once in four games, while Ballbusters and Namoi Brothers are ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, with one win.

The only winless side are the DTA Timber Lumberjacks who are last.

In the women’s competition, two teams scored their fourth victories from as many matches as Twisted Blisters and Specialised Quarries and Concrete continued to dominate.

Neither side conceded a try on the night in round four as Twisted Blisters beat Hounddogs 10-0 and Specialised Quarries ad Concrete downed Blue-birds 7-0.

The two top-ranked teams have both remarkably established for and against differences of 39 across four games, with Twisted Blisters scoring 41 tries and conceding two, and the Specialised Quarries and Concrete team scoring 40 tries and conceding just the one.

The SPA Redbacks are third after they earned their third win of the year as they outscored Wilga Westies 11-1, and in fourth place are CBRE with two wins after they beat Touch ‘n’ Go 2-0.

Ranked fifth to eighth are Blue Birds, Hounddogs, Touch ‘n’ Go and Wilga Westies.
