Narrabri Golf Club hosted its annual ladies’ open last Wednesday, August 16.

There were 42 ladies in total who competed in the four-ball-best-ball 18-hole event, with keen golfers from Wee Waa, Gunnedah, Bingara, and Coonabarabran travelling to take part alongside 22 Narrabri golfers.

One of the Narrabri Golf Club’s matchplay committee members who played on the day, Louise Penberthy, told The Courier it was an enjoyable event.

The annual event got underway at 10am and wrapped up at about 3pm with the presentation, at which the worthy winners and runners-up were congratulated.

There was also a delicious morning tea and lunch on offer.

Results are as follows:

Gross winners – Michelle Johnston and Jane McWhirter with 24, gross runners-up – Kate Rickard and Louise Penberthy with 22, nett winners – Karleigh Cook and Nicole Cooper with 56 points, nett runners-up – Leisa Eather and Kate Pitman with 50 points, front nine winners – Carmel

Condon and Lyn Shearer with 25 points, back nine winners – Kerry Crutcher and Natalie Wohling with 24 points (countback), nearest to pin fifth – Jane McWhirter, nearest to pin eighth – Liz Jones, nearest to pin 12th – Carmel Condon, A-grade long drive – Michelle Johnston, B-grade long drive – Kate Knight, C-grade long drive – Kate Rickard.
