The University of Wollongong’s Future Me program 2023 wrapped up with a mini graduation celebration as seven local students celebrated their successful completion of the program at the CUC North West.
The 12-week Future Me program aims to support students in navigating the often complex landscape of post-school life.
The sessions, held at the CUC North West in Doyle Street each Wednesday afternoon, equipped students with essential tools to not only excel in their final year of high school but also to approach their future academic pursuits with confidence and competence.
CUC North West student ambassador and Future Me facilitator, April Squire, praised the graduating students.
“Throughout the program, the students explored diverse topics such as study strategies, time management techniques, effective budgeting, and the intricacies of scholarship applications,” April said.
“Students who successfully completed the Future Me program are now positioned to benefit from a guaranteed offer through the University of Wollongong or UoW College (UOWC).
“As they embark on the next phase of their academic journey, these students carry with them a profound set of skills and insights gained from the Future Me Program.”
CUC North West manager, Cathy Walters added “The Future Me program doesn’t just focus on the University of Wollongong, but covers content that is applicable to any university, TAFE or apprenticeship.
It is wonderful to see these year 12 students utilising the centre for supplementary study in the lead up to their HSC, Cathy said.
CUC North West offers free registration to anyone studying online at university, TAFE or any RTO. Students in Years 11 and 12 students are also welcome to register to utilise the centre for quiet study.
