Wee Waa High School’s Year 12 class of 2023 was praised at a recent graduation ceremony, where their achievements were celebrated with parents, family and friends.
“It is wonderful to be able to come together today to celebrate the end of Year 12 for this wonderful group of young adults,” said WWHS relieving principal Jacki Neil.
“It is always an occasion with mixed emotions for the students and of course your families.
“You may be sitting here, excited, relieved, scared or a combination of all.
“I’m speaking on behalf of all the teaching and non-teaching staff, when I say, it has been a privilege to watch you grow into the impressive young adults that are now departing Wee Waa High School,” Ms Neil told the students.
Paying tribute to the students’ resilient attitudes and ability to achieve positive outcomes despite challenging situations, Ms Neil said, “I’m disappointed that the last few years of your schooling has been disrupted with COVID, mould and floods.
“Despite all these challenges, you should be proud that you completed your high school career under such tough circumstances.
“I wish you all good luck for the next phase of your lives, keep studying for your exams, enjoy what comes ahead, whether it be employment or more study.
“You are always welcome back here at WWHS for a visit.”
