Bobi, the world’s oldest dog passed away last week at age 31. Bobi lived his whole life in a rural Portuguese village. He was born in 1992 and in February this year, he became the oldest dog in the world, a record previously held by Australian Shepherd ‘Bluey’, who lived to be 29 years and five months. Bobi miraculously avoided death when he was a puppy. Bobi had longevity in his genes. His mother Gira, lived to be 18 and another dog in the family, Chicote, passed away at 22. Bobi was never chained up or on a leash and was only fed homemade food. Not many people in life can say they got to spend some three decades with their furry companion, let alone one crowned the world’s oldest living dog of all time by the Guinness World Records this year.
