John Watling was thanked for his years of service to the Club Narrabri board after stepping down at the recent annual general meeting.

Reflecting on his time as a board member, and more recently as vice president, he praised the group’s continued steady approach.

Mr Watling has seen the organisation grow and change as it expanded its operations from the RSL Club to the Narrabri Golf Club (Golfie) and now the Narrabri Bowling Club (Bowlo).

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time on the board,” he said.

Mr Watling praised the continued improvements at the facilities occuring under the leadership of board president Bruce O’Hara and Club Narrabri CEO Paul Gordon.

Overall, the previous financial year was a success with major renovations at the Narrabri RSL and securing a major golfing event in the new year among many other highlights. Narrabri businessowner Jamie Condon was elected to fill the vacant board position.
