The Narrabri Show Society has honoured years of dedication to the organisation through the presentation of three life memberships.

Bec Cope, Fiona Orman and Kevin Lawty were officially presented with their life member ribbons at the opening of the 2024 show.

Each recipient has contributed to the show in various aspects.

Bec Cope has been involved in the Narrabri Show for many years and is also involved with the ag show movement at a state level. She has been involved with the show executive as a vice president and secretary in addition to roles involving the Young Woman competition, baby show, novelty events, stables, whip cracking and more. Bec has also served as an Agricultural Societies Council (ASC) of NSW Next Gen Delegate for group 14 and is currently a group 14 representative on the ASC board.

For Fiona Orman, the Orman involvement continues through another generation equally as passionate about celebrating the best of the district. The Narrabri Show has been a way of life for Fiona and her family. She has been involved at both a committee and section level since a young age.

Kevin Lawty has been busy behind the scenes for many years as the show’s ‘Mr Fix-it’. Like the Ormans, the Lawty name is also inextricably linked to the Narrabri Show and for Kevin, his involvement with the show spans decades. When his wife Trish, mother-in-law Dawn and late mother Gwen started what was originally the Narrabri Show Ladies’ Auxiliary, Kevin did work on the kitchen including painting and maintenance. He also has spent much time providing maintenance on pavilions around the grounds. Many people in the community would also be familiar with Kevin’s involvement with poultry, including the show’s poultry pavilion.
