“Where was the famous ‘old wine shop’ of Narrabri legend” a reader asks. “No one I ask seems to know the exact location except that it was out along the Old Gunnedah Road somewhere between the town and the Kaputar Road turn off, and probably just fell into disrepair and disappeared in a flood decades ago. And why would a wine shop be so remote? Perhaps it was because of a liquor licencing issue, being out of a residential area and in the bush?”
