The next Narrabri Shire Council will see six new councillors sworn into their positions following the September local government election.
Final results from the recent poll were announced this week following the distribution of preferences which was conducted on Monday afternoon. Three previous councillors were re-elected.
Group B lead candidate and previous mayor Darrell Tiemens, Group F lead candidate Brett Nolan and Group D lead candidate Ethan Towns were elected at the first count as they had reached quota while the remaining six positions were determined by preferences.
Other candidates successfully elected include Group F’s Jocellin Jansson, Group A lead candidate Joshua Roberts-Garnsey, Group B’s Amanda Brown, Group C lead candidate and previous councillor Greg Lamont, as well as previous councillor Brett Dickinson and candidate Navin Erathnage.
The September poll saw 7846 ballot papers counted, with 421 informal votes (5.37 per cent).
