Friday, November 15 is National Agriculture Day. The theme is ‘Grow you good thing!’ which is about celebrating Australian grown and connecting Australians with the farm sector. “It doesn’t matter where you live or what you do, every single person depends on agriculture every single day,” said National Farmers’ Federation president David Jochinke said. “National Agriculture Day is the perfect way to recognise this. In Australia it’s easy to pop into the supermarket and load up the trolley full of fresh, nutritious food. That’s simply not the case in some parts of the world. Australian farmers are up there as the best in the world at what they do. We should all be proud of that – and farmers should be proud of the work they do to feed and clothe us. I know it’s a busy time for many farmers with grain harvest in full swing, but I hope farmers can also take a moment to share with the public what’s happening on their farm.
