On Saturday, January 25, come join the Baan Baa community for a day packed with summer fun and exciting news. There will be a barbecue lunch by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s Narrabri Support Group along with the opening and welcome of Ooranga Preschool to town.

The waterslide will be open from 10:30am to 3pm for a chance to cool off.

Baan Baa Hall Committee secretary and treasurer, Ellen McClung is looking forward to this family fun event and the ongoing appreciation given to the hall.

“It’s going to be a great time to cool off from the summer holidays and enjoy a relaxed day with family and friends,” Ellen said.

“The preschool opening will be just a brief introduction and welcoming.

“We’ll be inviting the mayor and one of Ooranga’s major sponsors Boggabri Coal to come to the event.”

Ellen expressed her appreciation for the government funding of these Summer Fun programs provided and the success they have been bringing.

“We’ve had lots of kids coming along which has been very rewarding,” Ellen said.

There will also be live music in the early afternoon with local singer/songwriter Amarni Grace performing a set. Amarni has done many local gigs around the area and will be showcasing her talent from 11:30am-1:30pm.

“During the back end of the school holidays, we’re going to make the most of it with people travelling to see family or just going through Baan Baa,” Ellen said.

“We also have the hall looking great so it’s the perfect opportunity for people to admire and learn more about our community.”

“We look forward to seeing everyone here on the 25th.”

The hall grounds will open at 10:30am for the day to commence. Come out to stay cool and celebrate with Baan Baa.
