Voters in the North West will head to the polls in the coming months to help decide the next Member for Parkes, and which party will form government.
An election will need to be held by May 17.
While the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, has yet to offer an indication about when he will visit the Governor-General to call an election, it is a requirement under the Constitution that there be at least 33 days between the writs of the election being issued and election day itself.
As the largest publisher of news in the North West region, Collective Media (publisher of The Courier, Gunnedah Times, Wee Waa News and North West Magazine) is gauging community opinion around the election.
A short survey is available both online and in Collective Media’s printed publications.
Results from the survey will be collated and shared with readers.
The Courier wants to know what readers consider to be the most important issue of the election.
The Courier is also keen to understand how important other issues are, including, cost of living, roads and infrastructure, water, electricity prices, health and immigration and border control.
Collective Media’s survey also features questions around nuclear energy, water buybacks and housing.
