March has proven to be a wet month for Narrabri with almost 190mm recorded at the Bureau of Meteorology’s Narrabri Airport station. But it’s nothing compared to the wettest March on record … 510.3mm in 1894. March 1894 is also Narrabri’s wettest month ever recorded. February 1878 comes in at second place with 362.8mm. March 1898 experienced eight days of heavy rainfall while in February 1878 it was five days. 1890 was the heaviest rainfall year at 1311.5mm while 2019 was the driest at 206.2mm.
