Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate the theft of a firearm from a property in Baradine.

Between 7pm on Wednesday, April 16 and 1pm on Saturday, April 19, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation, following reports that a .223 calibre Remington rifle had been stolen from a property on Creenaunes Lane, Baradine.

Police were told the home was broken into and the rifle was stolen from a vehicle on the property.

The owner was given a firearms licence notice of suspension and seized the remaining firearms.
