Wee Waa Local Aboriginal Lands Council will host its popular Family Fun Day again this year at Dangar Park on July 11 to mark NAIDOC Week, with the support of Narrabri and District Community Aid Service and Whitehaven Coal.

The free event will kick off at 10am with plenty of entertainment on offer until 2pm.

This year, attendees will be treated to a barbecue, woodfire pizza, tea and coffee, a DJ and some exciting giveaways.

There will also be free health checks and a chance to win an IGA voucher, thanks to the support of the Rural Doctors Network.

Wee Waa Local Aboriginal Land Council chief executive officer Robyn Keeffe encourages community members to join in the fun on July 11.

“The day is for all the community to come together, everyone is welcome,” she said.

“It’s to celebrate NAIDOC Week and its our way of recognising how important NAIDOC Week to the Aboriginal community.

“We also Dark Horse Photography videoing the day, Jason French who grew up in Narrabri and now resides in Orange.

“We have a fantastic opportunity for attendees to learn more about dot painting, and that’s thanks to Wee Waa Arts and Cultural Centre.
