My mother Enid Clarence was born in Narrabri in 1932.

She attended St Xavier’s Convent High School in 1940s and moved to Sydney and then to Adelaide in early 1950s.

Enid’s parents were Raymond Clarence (1906 – 1974) and Dorothy Gett (1910 – 1946).

Ray’s parents (Henry and Jean Clarence) lived at 89 Barwan Street, Narrabri.

Henry and Jean’s children were Henry Clarence (1900 – 1973), Ida Clarence (1902 – 1988), Raymond Clarence (1906 – 1974) and Vernon (Bob) Clarence
(1911 – 2002).

Vernon was a Sub Lieutenant in the British Navy in WWII and was torpedoed in Atlantic (a dramatic story in Narrabri North Western Courier, 4 Dec 1941 page1).

Later he moved to the USA in 1957 and worked for Rolls Royce.

I am interested in students at St Xavier’s Convent High School in the 1940s that may have information about Enid Clarence – or details of the Clarence family movements.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone about the family and their movements.
