Finalists of the Rotary Club of Narrabri’s annual Pride of Workmanship Award were celebrated at Saturday night’s changeover dinner at the Tourist Hotel.
Commons Espresso Bar owner Julie Canfell was named as this year’s winner. Julie established the business in September last year.
She transformed an empty shop into a stylishly decorated venue.
Customers praise Julie’s service, her award nomination read. Julie has been described as someone with great passion, enthusiasm and energy.
Finalists included Lisa Wheeler, One23 Cafe and Restaurant, Lauren Grant, 2Max FM, and Margaret Goodwin, Namoi Hotel.
Rotarians and guests applauded the finalists on their contributions to their workplaces and dedication to providing excellent service.

Outgoing president Jocellin Jansson and vocation director Tricia Hadley announced the winner and presented the finalists with their accolades. Julie was unable to attend Saturday night’s dinner, however, was presented with her certificate on Monday.
A framed citation and image will be hung in the Narrabri Shire Council administration building.
The award’s coordinator, Tricia said determining a winner was difficult and praised the calibre of the entries.
“The quality of the nominations we received this year was outstanding,” she said.
The Rotary Club of Narrabri has encouraged locals to begin thinking about candidates for the 2026 award.
