Narrabri Hospital Auxiliary has welcomed some new faces to its kiosk.
Some of the fresh recruits hit the ground running last week for their induction and are looking forward to help the auxiliary to continue to raise funds for the betterment of the hospital and its patients.
Louise Penberthy, George Gourley, Nat Gourley and Ros Williams are looking forward to regularly pulling on the maroon aprons and assisting hospital staff, patients and visitors.
The kiosk is a much-loved fixture of the community with many people seeking its delicious food and friendly service whether utilising hospital services or just having a bite to eat while supporting a local charitable organisation.
Speaking with The Courier about her decision to sign up for the kiosk, Nat Gourley said she was aware how busy the hospital auxiliary was, as well as its need for more volunteers.
“It has been on my radar for the past 12 months,” she said.
“You can also specify when you are available to volunteer,” Nat said, acknowledging the flexibility on offer.
Nat said volunteering with the kiosk was also a great way to give back to the community.
While the auxiliary has welcomed its newest members, there is always the need for additional helpers, particularly back-up volunteers.
Assistant secretary Lyn Vaughn praised the community’s continued support of the auxiliary, especially mentioning assistance provided by local organisations.
“It’s refreshing to have some new faces and fresh ideas. We’re open to new ideas,” Lyn said.
