A premiere of documentary When the Dust Settles will be held in Wee Waa this Sunday, August 17.
From award winning director Stuart McKay, When the Dust Settles is a raw heartbreaking and visually striking documentary that journeys deep into the heart of rural Australia to confront the often unseen realities of men’s mental health, suicide and the heartbroken families left behind.
Filmed locally in the area, this is a documentary that needs to be seen and a subject that needs to be discussed more openly within local communities, families and with friends.
Through powerful storytelling and cinematic imaginary, the film explores themes of isolation, resilience, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going.
As dust hangs in the air and the silence stretches across open landscapes, a deeper conversation emerges, one that needs to change the stigma around the conversation of mental health and suicide.

Tickets to the premiere, being held at Wee Waa Bowling Club (doors open at 6.15pm and screening starts at 7pm) cost $20.
