The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been deployed to North West communities recently.

Around 2.30pm, on Thursday, August 14, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Moree Hospital to John Hunter Hospital. A man aged in his 60s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Newcastle.

Around 12pm, on Wednesday, August 13, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Quirindi Hospital to John Hunter Hospital. A man aged in his 60s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team
before being airlifted to Newcastle.

Around 12:15pm on Tuesday, August 12, a Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to a motorcycle accident south west of Bingara. A man aged in his 40s sustained injuries in the accident. The patient was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.

Around 3.40pm, on Sunday, August 10, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Wee Waa Hospital to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital when Wee Waa was cut-off during the major flood event. A man aged in his 80s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Tamworth.
