Local golfers Kim and Mark Bentley were the winners of this year’s Keno Ambrose mixed pairs qualifying event at the Narrabri Golf Club on Sunday.
There were 24 players across 12 teams that took part in the two-person ambrose match, and the Bentleys finished the day with a high score of 63.
That saw them narrowly edge out Kane Voysey and Myra Joseph by the tightest of margins after that duo ended the event with 63.5.
The nearest to pin winners were Leisa Eather (fifth), Lachlan Woolford (eighth), Will Coldham (12th) and Bill Lang (16th).
The victory saw the Bentleys qualify for the regional finals, which will be contested across 12 different locations from Sunday, September 28 to Sunday, November 2.
Regional final venues include Port Kembla, Yamba, Forbes, Pambula Merimbula, Dubbo, Cabramatta, Queanbeyan, Muirfield, Thurgoona, Merewether, Forster Tuncurry and Gunnedah.
The leading male, female and mixed pair from each regional final will advance to the state final later in the year at the Bonville Golf Resort in Coffs Harbour from Sunday, November 30, to Wednesday, December 3.
